And really, it was only a matter of time. I heard about Pinterest weeks ago, but I've been resisting because I knew I would like it....too much. And I don't need more things to get myself involved in. But then I discovered how much I love (and possibly even NEED) this site.
Have you heard about Pinterest?? I'm sure you already have an account. I think I'm the last one to jump on the Pinterest boat. Pinterest is a site where you can create "boards" to pin different interests to so everything is neatly categorized.
All you need to do is copy and paste a web address you're interested in - whether that be fashion, food, crafts, or anything your little heart desires - and Pinterest creates a link with thumbnail image on your board for you to share with others.

I love it because I constantly find projects that I want to do so I email them to myself and file them away in a folder. The problem with that was that I had a folder full of over 200 emails with text links in them and subjects like "embellished top" or "cool skirt". Not very helpful when trying to decide what project I wanted to do next and also a little inconvenient to have to copy and paste each link to get to the project. Also I was starting to feel a little clostrophobic with all of the emails cluttering up my inbox.
Since signing up for Pinterest this past weekend, I completely cleaned out my folder and instead pinned all the projects I want to do, things I love, and resources and inspiration on my different boards. Now, everything in conveniently and neatly located in one place with pictures and descriptions for each item so all I have to do is click on the picture and I'll be taken to the project I want to do.
And you can follow each others' Pinterest if you like to get some great ideas and see what inspires them (hint hint).
Pinterest is invite only for now, so let me know if you would like an invite and I'd be happy to send one your way!
Oh, and if you're already a pro, maybe you can give me some tips since I'm still figuring out how to do things. Like when people comment on one of your pins, do you comment back? And if so, do they see your reply?
I resisted the Pinterest craze for a while too but so glad I gave in. I love that my 'bookmarks' are now organized and with pictures. I cleared out my bookmarks and 'found' things I had completely forgotten about. I'm following you now.
ReplyDeleteOh & if you want to see what things people have pinned of yours put this http://pinterest.com/source/ followed by your blog name and see what comes up.

ReplyDeleteI just joined today! No joke. Same here. I got an invite about a month ago and didn't mess with it. Now I'm kind of obsessing. Not going to be spammy on my first visit to your blog so I'll just add that my link is on my blog.
